Joe Balducci, 103 years old, of Majestic Park in Seminole passed away on August 23, 2026.  He lived in this park for more than 35 years but also had quite the life for almost 104 years this fall.  As many of us know, he joined the Army during WW II in January, 1943 and served as a paratrooper with  the 82nd and 17th Airborne Divisions, and jumped with 16,000 other paratroopers in the invasion of Germany as part of Operation Varsity.  Many residents remember his 100th birthday celebration at the Park when many Army veterans on motorcycles paraded through the Park in honor of Joe followed by a birthday celebration in the Hall.

He was an electrician in the Philadelphia area after the war.  When he retired he moved to Seminole and became Florida Joe.  Joe spent as much time with family and friends and helped family members whenever he could.  He was a bon fide character and everyone who knew him had a story to tell.

Joe is survived by his four sons, Michael (Donna), Charles (Duska), Joseph (Debra), and Frank (Audrey).  Six grandchildren and six great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.

Joe was predeceased by his brothers and sisters as well as his ex-wife Alice.

Such a great, interesting, and well lived life.  As his son said, "He will be missed but never forgotten".  Rest in Peace Joe.
